SPP Mentorship Program

The Society for Pediatric Pathology’s foremost priority is to ensure that our subspecialty continues to attract, develop, and retain the best pediatric and perinatal pathologists. This commitment is essential for the ongoing growth and excellence of the field, as a well-supported and skilled workforce directly impacts patient care and the advancement of pediatric pathology. A key component in achieving this goal is fostering strong relationships through mentoring, which not only supports the professional growth of younger members but also provides mentorship opportunities for more senior members.

The SPP Mentorship Program connects mentors with specific expertise to mentees seeking guidance. The goal is to foster meaningful mentor/mentee relationships within a framework that provides both structure and flexibility to meet the needs of each pair. Through this program, mentees receive valuable advice to enhance their skills, improve their career prospects, and expand their professional networks beyond their institutions. Ultimately, the program helps develop the next generation of pediatric pathologists, ensuring they are equipped for future leadership in the field. The suggested mentor pairings will be for a 1-year period with a minimum of meetings once a month for at least 30 minutes.
